Chia Seed Pudding Recipe

Do you have a sweet tooth? Me too! Although, too much sugar isn’t good for your body when trying to conceive. Studies show that when women (and men!) consume diets higher in sugar, it takes them longer to get pregnant and they are more prone to infertility.

Blood sugar regulation is an important part of fertility health. When blood sugar and insulin are consistently elevated, it can affect metabolic health and reproductive hormones, particularly in women with insulin resistance or conditions such as PMOS.

This doesn’t mean you need to avoid sugar completely. Instead, focus on your overall diet and build meals and snacks around protein, fiber, healthy fats, and minimally processed foods.

One treat I love to make is Chia Seed Pudding. It’s a quick and easy way to satisfy your sweet tooth without added sugar, and chia seeds provide fiber, healthy fats, and some protein.

Ingredients

  • 3–4 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • Monk fruit or stevia, to taste

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a mason jar or bowl.
  2. Whisk until the chia seeds are evenly incorporated.
  3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then whisk again.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours or overnight.
  5. If the pudding isn’t thick enough, add another 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, whisk, and refrigerate for another 30 minutes.

Enjoy!

When you’re trying to conceive, remember that fertility nutrition isn’t about one food or avoiding one ingredient. It’s about creating an overall dietary pattern that supports blood sugar regulation, nutrient status, metabolic health, and reproductive function.
