A step by step guide to creating a home free of toxics to enhance fertility at age 40 & beyond
In our homes and everyday lives, we are exposed to toxic chemicals through food, water, air, personal care products, beauty products, cookware, and household cleaning products. When these chemicals build up in our bodies over time, they can increase the risk of infertility, miscarriage, and birth defects. This guide outlines the steps I took to create a healthy home environment to enhance my fertility in my forties and be able to have healthy babies at 44 and 46 years old. When my husband and I were ready to start a family, the first thing we did to prepare our bodies was to assess our home environment. Since our bodies (and hormones) react to everything we eat, drink, put on our skin, and inhale, I wanted to ensure that the place where we spend the majority of our time was fertility-friendly.
When we reduce our daily toxic exposure, we not only increase our chances of conception and supporting a healthy pregnancy, but we are also creating a healthier future for our unborn baby. Several studies have shown that umbilical cord blood generally contains almost 300 different environmental toxins! These toxic chemicals are linked to health conditions affecting kids, such as allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and autism. The great news is that studies also show that by doing things like switching to non-toxic products and moving to a primarily organic diet, we can reduce our toxic load after only a few days.
