EMFs + Fertility

Numerous studies have shown the harmful effects of electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure from wireless devices on the reproductive systems of both men and women.

Over the past 50 years, global sperm counts in men have seen a significant decrease of 51.6%, while total sperm counts (TSC) have plummeted by 62.3% and continue to decline. Although this drastic decline in sperm counts cannot be solely attributed to EMF exposure, the research highlighting its potential impact is undeniably alarming.

According to research published this month, men who use their cellphones more than 20 times per day have significantly lower sperm concentrations and total sperm counts than those who only use them once a week or less. These men have a 30% increased risk of having sperm concentrations below the reference value for fertile men and a 21% increased risk of having total sperm counts below the fertile range.

Pregnant women exposed to high levels of radiation from sources such as cell phones, wireless devices, and cell towers miscarry at roughly three times the risk of those exposed to moderate levels, according to research.

Even if you’re not trying to conceive, exposure to EMFs has also been linked to disruptions in brain and heart function. EMF exposure can trigger alterations in nerve cells within the central nervous system, leading to both structural and functional changes. Prolonged exposure may negatively impact cognitive abilities and has been correlated with conditions such as anxiety, depression, autism, and Alzheimer’s disease.

What can you do?

– Avoid carrying your cellphone on your body and sleeping with it in your bedroom unless it is in airplane mode.

– When using your cellphone, use the speaker phone and hold the phone at least 3 feet away from you.

– Turn off your WiFi when you’re not using it, especially at night while you’re asleep. We set a timer for ours.

– As far as possible, avoid wireless devices in favor of wired ones, such as keyboards, mice, and headphones.

– Limit your use of “smart” devices

– Use a battery-powered alarm clock.

– Stop using the microwave. I haven’t used mine in more over a decade, and I don’t miss it.
