As a former personal trainer and fitness instructor, I’m a big believer in the power of physical activity. That said, intense exercise has been linked to hormonal disruption and problems with ovulation.

In the months leading up to getting pregnant, I was under a lot of stress. Although exercise is generally considered “good” stress, it is still stress on the body. In my attempt to reduce my overall stress levels and calm my nervous system, I drastically reduced my exercise routine. I still moved my body daily, but focused on walking in nature, light strength training, and easy cardio for no more than 30 minutes a day.
