The chemicals found in the majority of these tanning lotions contain hormone-disrupting compounds that are considered toxic to reproduction and are linked to birth defects. Tanning products also often contain carcinogens (such as formaldehyde and nitrosamines) and chemicals that have been linked to health problems such as cancers, diabetes, and fertility challenges.
If you still want a glow, without the added risk, there are two products that I recommend.
